“Cali is a topic of conversation among our children as if she is always in the other room ready to jump out and make things feel magical for them.”

You Cannot Spoil a Newborn

Newborns/infants need all the love & attention they can get. Emotional intelligence derives from a strong initial bond between parent/caregiver.

As caretakers, it is our job to guide children towards becoming kind, compassionate, responsible individuals.

Child-Led Parenting

"Giving a child the freedom to do what they want within the boundaries of what you expect." - Ross Hunt

Why Not?

When observing a child partake in an activity, ask yourself, why not?

  1. Is this activity harmful to themselves?

  2. Is this activity harmful to others?

  3. Is this activity harmful to their surroundings?

If you answer no to all questions listed above, then why not allow the child to continue with the activity.

RIE Philosophy

“Relationship-based approach of respectful, responsive, and reciprocal care is foundational to an infant’s early relational health and overall development. RIE is rooted in child development, backed by science, and supported by real world experience. You will see and understand infants like never before.”

RIE Principles

slow down, observe, and respond with sensitivity

“Understanding our role in caregiving in a new way, creating a balance between our inborn drive to nurture and our trust in nature’s plan for each baby’s unique development.”

Milestones

Children use repetition to master a skill. Our job as parent/caregiver is to show initial guidance and then step back. Remove distraction or remove child from distraction. Sometimes we are the distraction and they become too reliant.

Massage & Stretching

Touch is a wonderful way to help calm your little ones’ nervous system. Gentle massage and stretching can relieve stiffness, improve emotional intelligence, leads to better sleep and bowel movements.

The Absorbent Mind

“Toddlers pick things up effortlessly. Dr. Montessori observed that children under 6 years old take in everything without effort, just as a sponge soaks up water. From birth to the age of 3, they do this completely unconsciously.”

“We observe the child and step in to give only as much assistance as necessary before stepping out of the way for the child to continue their self-mastery.”

Certifications

Continuing Education

Asking for donations has never been my forte. However, education is very important to me. With greater knowledge, I wish to provide little ones with the best possible start in having a bright future. My endeavors include the Maternal & Child Nutrition Certificate from CWRU - School of Medicine and the Educator in Infant Massage Certification from Infant Massage USA. Of course, a lending hand in helping support my new business, Newborn Cali Care, would be an absolute blessing along with the infinite list of childcare books I’d love to read & write.

“Cali is committed to her own learning in ways that help her meet the needs of the children she cares for.” - NBCC Family

If you are unable to donate at this time, I kindly ask that you share this website along to your friends & family. I have dedicated many years into all aspects of building this business.

Please & thank you. You are truly amazing!
